On June 8th the Central South England STEM Ambassador Hub, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and the Royal Academy of Engineering held a joint event to engage local students. The RAEng has established a series of school networks, run by teachers that explore local resources and encourage their students to consider an engineering based career. STEM Ambassadors have been supporting the Portsmouth and Southampton groups, culminating in this event.
HIOWAA ran a series of workshops with a joint engineering/medical focus. The event was well reviewed and attended by Scott Atkinson, the programme manager for the schools networks. The Hub very much hopes to continue this partnership and will continue to move it forward in a positive manner. STEM Teacher: “It was an amazing afternoon. The students all enjoyed it.”
